Soya Palak

Soya Palak is a nutritious, high-protein North Indian curry made by simmering soya chunks in a spiced, pureed spinach gravy.

Soya Palak

Ingredients

  • 2.0 medium Onion
  • 1.0 bunch Spinach
  • 2.0 tsp Garlic
  • 1.0 inch Ginger
  • 2.0 Green Chilli
  • 1.0 Lemon
  • 0.5 cup Cream
  • 0.5 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1.0 tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 1.0 tsp Salt
  • 1.5 cup Soya Chunks
  • 0.5 tsp Garam Masala
  • 2.0 tsp Refined Oil

Cooking Steps

  1. Take soya chunks in a bowl and add hot water to it, let it soak for 15-20 minutes.
  2. Take spinach in a grinding jar, add green chillies and grind to a fine paste.
  3. Heat oil in a nonstick pan, add cumin seeds and once it changes color add ginger and garlic, sauté for a minute.
  4. Add onion and cook until golden brown in colour. Add spinach puree, salt and turmeric, cook for a minute.
  5. Squeeze soya chunks and add to spinach. Add ½ cup water and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  6. Add garam masala powder, mix well. Switch of the flame add lemon juice and fresh cream, mix well
  7. Serve hot, garnished with ginger strips.
